Welcome to Bibia. By using this website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not accept any of these terms, please refrain from using our site or making purchases.

General

  1. Brand & Ownership
     Bibia is a social enterprise of Center for Natural Resource Studies (CNRS), developed with support from UNHCR, focused on empowering refugee artisans through sustainable livelihoods.
     This website (www.bibia.com or your domain) is owned and operated by Bibia / Center for Natural Resource Studies (hereafter “we”, “us”, “Bibia”).
  2. Revisions to Terms
     We may update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. Updated terms will take effect upon posting. You should check this page regularly. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.

Product Information & Availability

  1. Handcrafted Nature
     All Bibia products are handmade by refugee artisans. Slight variations in texture, color, or finish may occur and are part of the uniqueness. We endeavor to represent products accurately, but exact matches cannot be guaranteed.
  2. Stock & Availability
     Because our items are artisan-made in limited batches, stock may be limited and cannot always be replenished. If an item is out of stock after you place an order, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer a refund or alternative.
  3. Color & Display
     We strive to show product colors as accurately as possible. However, due to differences in device screens, lighting, and display settings, actual color may vary slightly.

Pricing & Payment

  1. Currency & Pricing
     All product prices on this website are quoted in Bangladeshi Taka (Tk). For international orders, conversion rates may apply. Prices include applicable local taxes. Shipping, customs, and duties are separate (see Shipping & Delivery section).
  2. Payment Methods
     We accept valid payment methods available at checkout (credit/debit cards, mobile payments, online banking). You must provide accurate, current, and complete billing information.
  3. Payment Authorization
     By placing an order, you authorize us to charge the payment method for the amount of the order plus any shipping or handling costs. If payment fails or is reversed, we may cancel the order.

Shipping & Delivery

  1. Shipping Regions
     We ship within Bangladesh and select international regions. Delivery options, costs, and estimated timeframes will be shown at checkout.
  2. Customs, Duties & Taxes
     For international orders, import duties, taxes, and customs clearance fees may apply and are the responsibility of the buyer. Bibia is not responsible for delays caused by customs.
  3. Delivery Time
     Delivery times are estimates and may vary due to operational or logistical delays (weather, customs hold-ups, etc.). We will notify you of expected delays when possible.
  4. Risk of Loss
    Once the package leaves our facility, the buyer assumes risk. If a package is lost or damaged in transit, customer must inform us within a reasonable timeframe for us to support claims with courier.

Returns, Exchanges & Refunds

  1. Eligibility
     Returns or exchanges are allowed only if the product is defective, damaged during shipping, or incorrect (wrong item). The request must be made within 7 days of receiving the product. All original tags, packaging, and proof of purchase must accompany return.
  2. Procedure
     Contact customer support with photos and description. If approved, you may return the item to our designated address. We will inspect and, if the claim is valid, we will issue an exchange or refund.
  3. Non-Returnable Items
     Items that are washed, altered, ill-fitting (if correct size was ordered), or with missing tags are not eligible for return or exchange.
  4. Refunds & Credits
     Refunds will be made in the original payment method or as store credit, based on your preference. Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable except in cases of our error (defective or wrong product delivered).

Intellectual Property

  1. Copyright & Trademarks
     All content, images, text, designs, trademarks, and logos on this website are owned by Bibia / CNRS and are protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use them without our written permission.
  2. User Content
     If you post reviews, images, or comments, you grant Bibia a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, edit, or use that content on our site or promotional material.

User Conduct & Restrictions

  1. Acceptable Use
     You agree not to misuse the site, including (but not limited to):
  • Uploading harmful code or malware
  • Interfering with site security or network integrity
  • Posting defamatory or unlawful content
  • Using other users’ accounts unlawfully
  1. Account Termination
     We reserve the right to suspend or terminate user accounts or access for violation of these terms, fraudulent behavior, or misuse.

Limitation of Liability & Disclaimers

  1. Disclaimer
     The site and products are provided “as is.” Bibia disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
  2. Limitation of Liability
     To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bibia’s liability (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) is limited to the value of your order. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (loss of profit, emotional distress, etc.).
  3. Force Majeure
     We are not liable for delays or failures in service due to events beyond our control (natural disasters, war, strikes, import/export bans, etc.).

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

  1. Applicable Law
     These terms shall be governed by the laws of Bangladesh. You agree that any disputes or claims will be brought in the courts of Bangladesh unless otherwise required by law.
  2. Informal Resolution
     Before initiating legal action, both parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally through negotiation.

Severability & Waiver

If any provision of these terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that portion shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent required, and the rest of the terms will remain in full force. Our failure to enforce a right or provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.
